Is this wine Vegan?

Many people asking me if our wine is vegan and What does it mean...?

The matter seems obvious, because wine itself is a product of plant origin.

So why all the confusion and the question ... "Is this wine vegan?"

Well, in the production process, as a result of wine fermentation, sediments and suspensions are formed. Both must be removed to keep wine clear. And here, animal products such as gelatin, protein, casein, chitin or even powdered bovine blood are often used to clarify wine. After clarification is complete, these substances are carefully removed, but the very fact contradicts the idea of veganism. These methods have been used for a very long time, but raw materials of animal origin are increasingly being replaced with minerals such as bentonite or silica.

“Is this wine vegan”?... Wine can only be vegan if no animal products are used in its production. Vegan wines are made when a substrate that is a mineral substance, such as diatomaceous earth, is used in the wine clarification process, and can be made from both organic and traditional crops.

Organic equals Vegan?

It would be good to clear up one more point. Organic wines and vegan wines are not the same thing. You must remember that organic or biodynamic wines do not guarantee the non-use of animal substances. Organic wines are made from organic grapes, i.e. from crops where no fertilizers or insect spraying are used. However, in the production of such wines, essentially the same methods are used as in ordinary wines - the suspension formed by fermentation can be removed with the use of animal products.

What about the vegan wine taste?

Can we taste whether the wine has been clarified with animal substances? Well no, butit tastes completely normal. The entire technological process is always set up in such a way that the used coagulants or filters do not affect the taste of the drink and do not penetrate it at all.
